While Officers Respond to our Emergencies....

The Louisville Metro Police Foundation backs them up by raising funds and creating
partnerships to supply the department with equipment, programs, and initiatives that fall
outside the operating budget. Your police department may not come to mind when you think
about charitable giving, but there are few organizations that touch the lives of so many in
Louisville Metro.

LMPD Awards Banquet at Churchill Downs
On Thursday, March 26, 2009, the Louisville Metro Police Foundation hosted the Louisville Metro Police Department's 2008 Awards Banquet at Churchill Downs. This is an annual event offering the community the opportunity to say thank you to the men & women who sacrifice so much to make Louisville Metro a safer place to live and raise our families.
Once again this year, Thornton Oil was our Title Sponsor!
The awards banquet helps us achieve two major objectives. First, it shows the officers that the community truly cares and appreciates them through sponsorship of the event. Secondly, it helps the Foundation raise funds that go towards funding programs, training, and equipment not provided for in the LMPD's annual budget.
Congratulations to the outstanding officer and civilian award winners at this year's event: Detective James Clark and Robin Oates.
